Band of the Week – Parabelle

December 16, 2012

This week’s group has a history of change and upheaval. Parabelle was started in 2007 by Kevin Matysin, the former lead singer of the group Evans Blue, as a side project. It became his main project after a falling out in 2008 led to him being voted out of Evans Blue. Since then, essentially the only constant for Parabelle has been Matysin. The group currently officially has 5 members according to its Myspace page.

Despite only being around 5 years, the group has already released four studio albums, including one acoustic album. My favorite songs so far are those off the acoustic album, although I have not listened to all of their songs. Overall the group’s sound reminds me of Sixx: AM and Shinedown, and fall into the Alternative Rock genre.

Unfortunately it doesn’t look like the band has done a lot of touring, and all of their shows so far appear to have been concentrated in the Midwest and Texas, so if you live outside of those areas you might have some trouble seeing these guys live. Luckily their music is easy to get ahold of and you have plenty of room on your iPod, right? Check them out and enjoy!
